Ben Binion (November 20, 1904 - December 25, 1989)

Lester Ben Binion, famously known as Benny Binion, was a popular casino owner and poker fan. As a child, he never attended any school. He was known world wide as Benny Binion.

Benny tried his hand at lots of things before coming to Poker. He was good to attract the gamblers opposed to people who sought entertainment. He opened up his own casino in 1951. It was named “Horseshoe.”

Binion became famous for having the biggest action in town. At the opening of his own casino, his limits were comfortably above just anything. In 1970s, binion invented the gambling tournament as his casino business. It was probably the first time that his casino offered poker before. Horseshoe got a little corner and offered a regular game for the first time.

Benny took over the World Series of Poker, begun by Tom Morehead of the Riverside Casino. He made it up the global idea to increase the antes and blinds to bring forth a winner in a very short time span. It was indeed a new and revolutionary idea that boomed the world of poker numerous times. Benny Binion died of heart attack on Christmas in 1989.

Mike Sexton (September 22, 1947)

Mike Sexton is a professional poker player and commentator of America. Till now, Sexton has won many tournaments, such as World Series of Poker bracelet. He possesses more than $1,000,000 in total tournament winnings.

Sexton holds top 10 positions at WSOP with 37 cashes. He is at present the main host of World Poker Tour. He acts as spokesman for online poker room - PartyPoker.com. Sexton is recognized best for his promotion of several poker events and services.

Sexton writes in Cardplayer Magazine and Gambling Times. For all his work to promote poker, Sexton is recognized as ambassador of poker. Recently on February 15, 2006, Sexton was seen as top poker ambassador at the Card Player of Year Awards Gala.

Daniel Negreanu (July 26, 1974)

Daniel Negreanu started playing Poker quite early. As a teenager, he played $10 / $20 regularly. The year 1996 onwards, Daniel made many trips to Las Vegas, but failed each time. He faced many problems not only fixing his bankroll to play further but also at personal level.

Negreanu came to Los Angeles for 1997 Heavenly Hold'em Tournament at the Commerce Casino. He battled with Paul Clark and came out as a winner with $19,000. After the first tournament win, Daniel was titled as the Best All Round Player at the 1997 World Poker Final at Foxwoods. He was brimming with confidence.

In his first event, 1998 WSOP, Daniel won $169,000 in $2,000 Pot Limit Hold’em tournament. He was dubbed as Kid Poker as he was the youngest gold bracelet winner at the age of just 23.

In 2004, Daniel Negreanu won the Borgata Poker Open ($1.1 million dollars), Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic ($1.8 million dollars), and 3rd position at Gold Strike Casino in World Poker Open ($396,000).

At 2004 WSOP, Daniel won his third gold-bracelet and was named 2004 Player of the Year. He signed the Wynn Casino as Poker Ambassador and challenged the world players to play with him for up to $500,000.
